Training and Consultancy
ProMo Cymru partnered with nine leading youth organisations across Europe to create an e-learning course with the aim of bringing the Service Design methodology into youth work.
We worked together to combine Service Design with participative youth work. Developing and co-designing a service through a four-stage process that ensures what is built is accessible, useful and relevant to young people.
The resources developed were an e-learning course, toolkit and discovery report into the information-seeking behaviours of young people. ProMo Cymru led the creation of the DesYIgn Toolkit and training videos, which informed the content of the e-learning course, designed by Koordinaatti.
The course and materials have been tested and adapted with youth workers and translated into four languages.
We used our expertise in animation to create simple and informative content in four different languages explaining Service Design within a youth work context.
The project was Erasmus+ funded led by ERYICA (Luxembourg). The partners included Youth Work Ireland (Ireland), Koordinaatti (Finland), Agence Nationale pour l’Information des Jeunes (Luxembourg), Dirección General de Juventud y Deportes de Madrid (Spain), ProMo Cymru (Wales), Aġenzija Żgħażagħ (Malta), Institut Valencià de la Joventut (Spain) and Åbo Akademi University (Finland).
What’s Next?
The DesYIgn course is being rolled out across Europe and is available free for all youth workers. Our initial testing shows that youth workers enjoy the course and find the resources useful. Contact Arielle Tye for more information arielle@promo.cymru.
