Arielle and Cindy Step Up as ProMo Cymru’s New Co-CEOs
ProMo Cymru is delighted to announce that Arielle Tye and Cindy Chen have taken on the roles of Co-CEOs.
Familiar faces
Cindy has been part of the ProMo Cymru team since 2008, with Arielle joining in 2010. Both have grown with the organisation in evolving roles over the years and play an important role in its ongoing success. Their appointment as Co-CEOs reflects not just their individual strengths, but the power of a collaborative approach that has always been central to how ProMo works.
“We feel very honoured and privileged to take on this responsibility. Having both been part of ProMo and worked alongside each other for many years, we care deeply about this role,” say Arielle and Cindy.
“Our shared role as Co‑CEOs is a genuine reflection of our commitment to co‑operative principles that already underpin the way we work.”

About Arielle Tye
Arielle started her journey with ProMo Cymru as a young person as editor of theSprout, an online news and information platform for young people. She has over 15 years’ experience in digital youth work, service design, and organisational innovation, helping organisations rethink services around the needs of communities and the opportunities digital can offer.
As Head of Digital and as part of the Newid programme, Arielle has supported hundreds of third sector organisations across Wales to develop more accessible, participatory, and effective services. She trained in service design and completed a postgraduate certificate in leadership, specialising in design thinking and innovation.
Arielle also contributes to digital policy and innovation work at both a Welsh and European level, including work around responsible AI and digital youth services.

About Cindy Chen
Cindy, former Head of Communications and Engagement at ProMo, has successfully overseen a number of projects, showcasing her expertise in managing complex, high-impact programmes. She brings extensive experience in youth work and communications, holding the Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work Practice and postgraduate qualifications in journalism and in Leadership and Management.
Cindy leads and develops teams to execute high-quality, innovative projects and services, with a proven track record in project management, performance monitoring and meaningful co-designing with young people and the wider community.

Shared vision
As Co-CEOs, Arielle and Cindy will lead together with a shared vision and uphold the culture and values that define the organisation.
Arielle will lead on income generation, business development and financial sustainability, working closely with the Funding and Development Team and external partners.
Cindy will lead on organisational culture and development, communications and engagement, with responsibility for governance and internal structures.

Forward thinking
In the coming months, their focus will be transitioning into their new responsibilities, strengthening partnerships, working closely with former Chief Executive Marco Gil-Cervantes on a smooth handover, and spending time with colleagues across the organisation to better understand the breadth of ProMo’s work and the people and ideas that drive it.
Marco, who has moved into a new role as Development Director, shares:
“Having worked closely with Cindy and Arielle, I have total confidence in their leadership and their vision for ProMo’s future.”
For Arielle and Cindy, this is a moment full of both responsibility and possibility: “We’re really looking forward to this next chapter”.
ProMo Cymru is moving forward on strong foundations, guided by a clear purpose and a leadership team ready to build on a proud legacy.
